Are your goals getting in the way of... well... your goals? 🤯
The main struggles I hear about on my client calls have to do with 1. Motivation or 2. Not knowing where to focus your energy. Feeling unmotivated can come from many places: fear, lack of clarity around goals, burnout, etc. but most of the time, It comes from a place of Overwhelm.
I know when I started my business 4 years ago, my dreams were BIG, and my goals were BROAD. It felt exciting, but it also felt like too much. My focus was all over the place. I felt like I was working 24/7, but not accomplishing much. I just didn’t know where or how to focus my energy!
It wasn’t until I started breaking my goals down and implementing systems into my day that things started to feel easy. It wasn’t until I started breaking my goals down into smaller pieces that I realized... Damn. All this time, it was my goals getting in the way of ... my goals! 🤯
If you’re feeling this right now, here are 3 easy steps to break out of your funk.
⭐️ 1. Take a breath. You’ve got this.
⭐️ 2. Write down your main goal.
⭐️ 3. Break that goal down into smaller, more manageable goals. Use the SMART goal system to help you! (Is it Specific, Manageable, Accessible, Realistic, Time Sensitive?)
Remember. Getting started IS the hard part. Getting started IS the part that takes up the most energy. Once you start, you can ride the wave of momentum from there. And of course, if you need more support, I’m your girl! They don’t call me The Motivation Maven for nothing! DM me to work with me 1:1
💫Are you living in your comfort zone or in your growth zone?
Your comfort zone feels easy, but it will get you exactly where you are right now. If that feels good to you, then perfect. Keep doing what you’re doing. But, if you’re stuck in your comfort zone due to fear, here’s what I know to be true:
Fear blocks you from the good that could happen in your life. Fear of failure only blocks you from growth. And guess what? Successful people fail. And they fail often, because they take more risks. But that means they also WIN more, BECAUSE they take more risks.
People in their growth zone do it DESPITE the fear... by standing in their Power & living in a place of results, rather than a place of reasons. Reasons feel comfortable, but they keep you small.
Here are 3 tips to step outside of your comfort zone:
1. Become very aware of what your comfort zone in. Grab your journal. Write down what feels safe & what feels exciting, but scary.
2. Understand that you can only fail forward. Any “failure” is only a lesson to be learned. What worked well?
What didn't work well? And what can I apply or change for next time?
3. Watch for the excuses and reasons that come up. They’re here to keep you safe, but usually not really needed. Examine these reasons and ask yourself... is this the ultimate truth?
And, lastly, if you still need help stepping out of your comfort zone & into your power and growth zone, find a mentor! I am here to support you through it all. If you’ve been thinking about working with me, now is your time. My 1:1 spots are open and I’m now accepting applications! Book a free call with me for more clarity! :)
Most coaches teach Action = Results, but I am not most coaches. So, is that really the most effective way?
Let's think about it.
Action is obviously important, but when you skip the parts BEFORE action, you can only get so far. If you want to be successful for the LONG HAUL, follow these steps, taken from my signature POWER method, below:
1. Understand the outcome you desire, or at least some version of what that would look like AND feel like.
2. Own where you are right now in relation to that desire. No judgment. Just notice where you are now and what you’ve been doing to get/stay here.
3. How are you expressing yourself? How are you expressing your desires? Pay close attention to the words you use. Everything in this world was first thought and spoken into existence. Does the way you’re speaking line up with the life you want? If not, choose again.
4. Similar to expressing, how do you see the world? How do you feel it? What insights can you gather about the world around you? Where does your intuition continue leading you? Remember, the desires of your heart aren’t placed there by accident.
Once all of these are in place, meaning that you know what you want AND you’re in energetic alignment with it, THEN you can take action. And that action will bring amazing results.
There you have it! Desire - Ownership - Expression - Insight - Action - Results
